"I have had the (Mackie)450's for 3 years now, and I love them; however, they have a tendency to overheat at times. You constantly have to make sure you put them somewhere where they are not "stuffed" or they will get HOT and shut off in the middle of your gig. They are 12's and do sound good...but...
The following speakers will absolutely blow your fuckin mind. And the best part: NO OVERHEATING ISSUES LIKE THE MACKIES!!!!
These yorkville's sound so incredibly ridiculous it's unbelievable.
and they have more watts then the mackies, they are 15's!!!, and they are lighter and more durable feeling then the 450's.
I am looking to sell my 450's right now and get me a pair of these. Absolutely incredible sounding let me tell you. If you're looking for a pair of powered monitors, yorkville doesn't play. It took them years to switch to plastic, these canadians were the last ones to make a plastic based cabinet, because they had to get it just right to sound as good, if not better, than a wooden cabinet...anyway... check em out first."

first basic description, super low weight if you consider it has a mini mixer, big power, nice speakers...the mixer: has treble and bass control on the EQ side...it seems it has the greatest mids in the world so the didnt add mid control...it also has an input volume for the mic and the line (one each), with a master control...it has 1 mic in, 1 line in, 1 cd in...it links via loop with other speakers, it can use xlr or 1/4''...now for a little review, this things are simply incredible, last nights jam had the best sounding piano, voice, and when we took a break pink floyd was turned ON it sounded pristine, super smooth and clear! incredible, did i mention we only used 1......i can say it would be super sonic with 2......prestine, powerfull, easy to use, nice to handle, super portable, now i can say we have super sonic power...also, we connected 2 of the nx55p and filled the street with sound, super clean, super loud...very impresive...not sure what speaker the system has but they totally kick butt."

"I am no pro, so you may not wish to hear from me, and I have no real experience with the Peavey speakers that you are talking about but I did A/B the JBLs against some EV powered boxes EV SXA100) and found that I l.iked the sound of the EV boxes better... I even bought some, and at the same time ordered one yorkville NX 550 Powered box, and when it came, it was much nicer sounding than the EVs.. just warmer, really nice. So I sent back all of the EV's (except one which was past it's satifaction warantee date), and bought in the end 6 of the yorkville boxes, which I have used in varying ways, and with never any complaints."
